Rothemberg
After landing in Würzburg we set off in a bus to Rothernburg,
a walled medieval city overlooking the Tauber river.
Rothenberg had a number of quaint features including snowballs and an
enormous store that sold Christmas decorations all year round.
A snowball is a large ball of pastry covered in icing sugar - delicious but tricky to eat.
In the Middle Ages Rothenberg was an Imperial Free City. It was wealthy and was protected
by towering walls that protecting the town. We walked along parts of the wall.
