Regensburg

Day 10 Regensburg

Regensburg is one of Germany's finest preserved cities.

Beautiful sunny day for a walking tour of this very pretty city. Our guide showed us around old roman fortifications under buildings still standing. There was a very old bridge - bout 1000 years. The water eddies and swirls around the stauntions - that's where strudel gets it's name - the swirling and layers of pastry!

We had a coffee in the main square opposite the ancient church sitting in the sun and then returned to the ship for a Bavarian lunch. Oompa music, beer and pork and pretzels and strudel. Then back out for a walk Around the lovely town - unfortunately shops closed on Sundays in Germany. Joe quite happy bout that ! Still managed to find 1 souvenir shop open though!!!

Joe went for a long run and found a lovely little church on the hill.
